It's a startling fact, but 90% of adults in the UK never received lessons at school on managing money and 66% feel that having lessons would have better equipped them to deal with the financial challenges of day-to-day living.*

Since 1994, we at the RBS Group have been supporting financial education in the classroom through our MoneySense for Schools Programme. Over 2 million pupils have received MoneySense lessons since 2005 alone. More recently we have extended MoneySense to include impartial money management guidance for adults via the RBS website and in-branch booklet. MoneySense is supported by independent bodies such as the Personal Finance Education Group (pfeg) and the Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS).

Most children will first hear about money from their parents – we have created MoneySense Pocket Money as a positive way to make learning about budgeting, saving and managing money a fun, shared experience.
